A quote for today...
"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything." ~ Aaron Siskind ~

Thanksgiving...
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving day!!! I cooked this year, and it was exhausting but also lots of fun. We all ate waaaaaaaaay too much, and yet I still have tons of leftovers! Cant wait to dig into the turkey sandwiches today - that's my favorite part! I was lucky enough to snag just a few pics of each of the boys - my two, and my little nephew during the day and thought I'd share a few here:

Berry Art
Ok, I just needed to take a break from cleaning and shopping and getting ready for Thanksgiving and spend some quality time getting to know my new camera. I didnt have a lot of time, so I just went outside my house to see what I could find, and decided to see what I could do with the now nearly bare barberry bush in front of the house. The berries are such a vibrant red this time of year, and that attracted me right away (I love red!). So I took tons of shots, seeing what angles and compositions I could come up with just from that one little bush. When I opened them up in photoshop, I knew right away that I wanted the end result to have an asian flair to it... so here's what I came up with:

Ahhhhh birthdays...
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes for Matty... he had a wonderful day... cupcakes at school, then lots of fun gifts, and out to his favorite barbeque restaurant, Famous Dave's, for dinner! What more can a nine year old ask for?
Oh... except more cupcakes... lol!

Happy Birthday Matthew!
My little man turns 9 today!!! Hard to believe... it feels like just yesterday he was a little baby... and now look at him! He's turning into such a wonderful person, and I am so lucky to be his Mom.
I thought these silly out-takes from our Christmas card shoot would be fun for this occasion:

And here are the cupcakes he and I made last night to bring to his third grade class today to celebrate... YUMMY! And they just had to have army men on them {sigh}. Oh well... boys...lol!

Just a quickie...
Took my boys and my new camera out for a few quick pics at a new location I've been dying to try out. It was freezing, so we only managed a few quick frames, but this one was worth it! I am really loving the pics this camera is capable of producing!

Nikon D300 ... Its here... and I'm in love!
My newest "baby" has arrived... and its so amazing! I've always loved my Nikon cameras... I currently own a D50, a D200 and now the phenomenal D300. My D200 has been my workhorse, and I love it, but I had heard such amazing things about the new D300 that I've been literally drooling over them since their introduction. I have finally been able to get one of my very own and after spending the last two days playing with it I am simply blown away. I cant wait to start using this baby in my sessions! I'll be shooting with it this weekend and will try to post some pics here as soon as I can.Till next time... ~ Denise ~

Sneak Peek - Gayle
Gayle Slavick, a realtor with Coldwell Banker Flanagan Realty was the first taker for my new "Mini-Digi" sessions! Gayle needed an updated headshot for her business cards, and we had fun shooting it this morning!
If you are in the market to buy or sell a home, visit Gayle at her office at 1541 Route 37 East in Toms River, or drop her an email at Gslavick250@comcast.net and she'll take care of you. Tell her I sent you!
Here are a few from her mini-digi session:

Mini-Digi Sessions are here!
By popular demand... I am now offering "mini-digi" sessions. What is a "mini-digi"? Well... my typical session lasts approximately two hours, and may involve changes in clothing, and two or more locations, with a session fee of $150.00. Prints and/or digital files are purchased separately from a gallery of 35-45 completely hand edited and retouched images. The "mini-digi" is something new... for those who need just a few headshots, and arent really interested in prints but would rather have a CD of images that they can print whenever and whereever they want, as well as using them in web applications.
In order to meet that demand, Denise Snyder Photography is now offering a special, one hour session, plus approximately 10-12 edited and retouched images on a CD (no prints), for the single price of $275.00. This includes one location within a ten mile radius of my home in Brick, and must be paid in full at the time of your session. Your completed CD will be delivered to you within ten days of your shoot. You may still purchase prints, but they would be an add-on at regular print prices. So, if you are an actor or musician, or maybe a professional such as a realtor in need of headshots, this is the perfect solution for you. For parents who prefer to do several sessions a year to mark their child's growth and changing personality, rather than just one big one - this may be the best solution for your needs. Please note, this is NOT applicable to family or newborn sessions, which take much more time to complete. These sessions are for a single subject only.
With Christmas coming, its a great solution for gift giving as you may print and frame as many portraits as you like!
