Happy Halloween!!!

I loooooooooooove Halloween!!! Such a fun holiday! I love to see all the children dressed up in their costumes and trick or treat with my kids. This is my son all ready for the big day. This shot was taken with a Lensbaby 2.0, a specialty lens that has one small "sweet spot" of sharpness, surrounded by a beautiful blur. Its a fun lens, in that you actually use your fingertips to focus the lens and to move the lens around to put that "sweet spot" of sharpness right where you want it. Have a fun and safe Halloween everyone!

Now Here's His SWEET Side!

I couldnt really show you his sad face (below) without showing the other side, could I??? Here's his sweetest look - such a poser!

Real People, Real Life...

Real people, real life... how I describe my style of photography and what I strive to capture in my images. I try very hard to really "see" the subject I am shooting, and uncover their personality and hopefully, catch a tiny glimpse into their soul. Of course, everyone wants the "happy, smiley" pictures of their loved ones - I do too! BUT, that's not always real life. Sometimes, its good to capture the not so fabulous moments because, after all, they are a part of this life that we treasure. Here's a shot I took of my youngest son. While not the most flattering picture, it does tell quite a bit about him at this place in time. He is my "drama queen" child, the one who wears his emotion on his sleeve, and this is such a part of him. So I will treasure this photograph just as much as the hundreds of "smiley faces". Because it is part of him, and it is special.

PDN PhotoPlus Expo in New York City!

I spent this past weekend in New York City attending a photography Expo at the Javits Center with some of my dearest friends - and fellow photographers! While we were there, we were thrilled to meet and spend a few moments with Kevin Kubota, an amazing photographer and the creator of some of the photoshop effects that I use daily to enhance my images. I was also able to see so many wonderful new products that I cant wait to share with my clients. From photo books to wonderful gallery wrapped canvas' it was like being in a photographer's candy store ... and I enjoyed every moment of it!

Pictured from left to right are Megan Peck, Laura Stetser, myself, Kevin Kubota, Candy Avera and Julie Monacella.

Two More Winners!

I had two more winners just this past weekend at Shutterbugs.biz, a photo contest that boasts over 2000 entries daily! As always, its an honor to have my work recognized amount the amazing photographers who submit to that site!
