Rick's Beauties...

My husband has been working very hard on his garden this year growing lots of wonderful flowers. These dahlia's are some of my favorites and I thought the least I could do was to showcase HIS hard work along with my own! Enjoy!

Caution: Handsome When Wet!!!

I took this picture at a local amusement park after my son had finished playing in a splash area - it was over a hundred degrees that day! The white concrete pavement made for a terrific high key background.

Something different...

In addition to portraits, which are my favorites... I try to stretch my wings once in a while and try to get creative with some ordinary things... I had this lovely flower and was looking for some creative way to capture it. I ended up just laying it on this fence and loved the softness of the petals as compared with the rough textures of the wood. In post processing, I gave it an "acid wash" treatment and loved the results...

UPDATE: This image won Photo of the Day honors at Shutterbugs.biz in the "still life" category!!! Yay!
